Sales Manager Europe - Transportation Division

Polycorp Ltd. is an industry leader in the design and manufacture of engineered polymer products for a global customer base in the Transportation, Mining and Protective Linings industries. The Transportation Division is experiencing significant growth. As a result, we are currently seeking a full-time Sales Manager, Europe.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Reporting to the Division Manager based in Elora, ON, the primary activity of the Sales Manager, Europe is selling into large key European accounts. Also manage all sales activities and sales representatives/agents by developing strategies, tactics, and execute actions to achieve sales and profit objectives. Cultivate relationships with our current customer base and develop new relationships with new customers for the specific goals of consistently growing annual sales in the European market. Identify new products, customer needs, and target markets within Europe for future growth.

Ideal Candidate:

• Established technical professional who has experience in the following: Railroad / Transit industry, Rubber Industry
• Utilize a persistent attitude and interpersonal skills to ensure salesforce is working towards our vision and 5-year Plan;
• Multi-task and prioritize Sales Reps’ activities and efforts towards successfully landing key accounts and servicing customer needs;
• Strength in identifying and building relationships with key decision makers;
• Fluency in German and/or French language(s) is definitely an asset; and
• Divide their time effectively between managing a European-based salesforce and their own sales activities.

Education and Experience Required:

• University education- BA, Engineering or Business preferred;
• Minimum 4 years’ experience selling in a business-to-business (B2B) environment;
• Expected travel to Europe is 30-50%;
• Excellent verbal and communication skills; and
• Proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word and Project.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to sell a custom technical rail product system that may not be designed yet, but candidate understands what is possible and presents achievable solutions to the customer. Due to product mix, being mechanically inclined is a definite bonus.
• A desire to learn from hands-on construction job site visits, shop floor visits, and visiting key customers is important. Willingness to get involved in all aspects of the sales cycle is critical to ensure success
• Utilizing your superior negotiating skills, review and bring cumbersome purchase orders and contract negotiations to a conclusion.
• Must be able to work independently, be self-motivated and adopts a ‘must win’ attitude
• Able to self-manage time and activities for optimum results
• Be based in Elora, ON HQ when not travelling.

Work hours and travel flexibility is a must as majority of our customers are based in Europe, therefore extensive travel is required.

That’s where you come in. We’re looking for new full time Production Associates to join us as we continue to grow.

As our new Production Associate, your role will be to provide physical and technical support for a variety of tasks across our various production lines. You should have good mechanical aptitude, strong basic math and measuring skills, and great common sense and attention to detail.

To succeed in this role, you should also have good industrial manufacturing experience, and be hardworking and dependable. You’ll have the opportunity to do many different tasks in a given day, and learn different jobs throughout the plant. We want someone who’s not afraid to ask questions, learn, and work hard.

Additionally, you’ll be spending a lot of your time working with others, so it’s important that you be a good team player, and have strong communication skills.

Practically speaking, you will be:

- Loading and unloading factory equipment/machines
- Moving and using raw and finished materials
- Checking and measuring various products
- Supporting machine operators/technicians with physical/technical tasks
- Following work instructions and procedures
